This is my first year in my new home and I am so excited to decorate it for Christmas!

I have a few Christmas decor ideas in mind, but I am still in the planning stage!

I hope that this post will help you get into the Christmas spirit and give you some ideas for your home!

1. Decorate the Mantel with a Vintage Sign

Decorate your mantel with a large, vintage sign for an eye-catching display.

This sign from The Painted Nest Market is the perfect backdrop for a festive garland, a few stockings, and a pair of Christmas trees.

To finish the look, add in a few small, vintage touches like the old metal truck and the little red sled.

Vintage toys are perfect for adding a little whimsy to your decor!

2. Create a Farmhouse Christmas Vignette

If you’re not familiar with the term “vignette,” it’s just a fancy way of saying a small grouping of decor.

A vignette is a simple way to decorate a room or a mantel without taking up a lot of space.

I created this Christmas vignette on our entryway table with a few simple items.

I used a small evergreen tree as the focal point and added a few white houses to the right side.

I also layered a few bottle brush trees on top of a few vintage books.

Vintage books are a great way to add a little height to a vignette and they’re pretty easy to find at thrift stores or antique malls.

I used a few of my favorite Christmas decor items and created a few more vignettes around our home.

It’s such a simple way to add a little Christmas cheer to every room!

3. Use Vintage Christmas Ornaments

I love using vintage Christmas ornaments in my decor. They are so beautiful and unique. You can find them at antique shops or online.

I used some of my vintage ornaments to fill this dough bowl. I love the pops of red mixed with the greenery.

You can also hang them on your tree or use them in a garland. There are so many possibilities!

4. Display a Christmas Tree in a Galvanized Bucket

If you’re short on space, or just want to add some Christmas magic to another area of your home,

a mini Christmas tree in a galvanized bucket is the perfect solution.

You can use a faux tree or a real one, and you can even add a wood slice to the top of the bucket to give it a little extra height.

5. Make a Farmhouse Christmas Wreath

Making a Christmas wreath is a great way to add a touch of farmhouse to the front of your home.

This DIY wreath is simple and beautiful, and you can customize it with any colors you like.

I chose a more non-traditional color palette for my wreath with the blues and greens, but you could easily make this with red and white flowers instead.

6. Use a Ladder to Display Christmas Stockings

If you don’t have a fireplace, or if you want to display your Christmas stockings in a different part of your home, try using a decorative ladder.

Simply drape the stockings over the rungs of the ladder and add a festive wreath at the top.

This is a great way to add some Christmas cheer to an empty corner, and you can even add some lights to the ladder for an extra cozy touch.

7. Decorate the Kitchen with Christmas Signs

This kitchen is the perfect example of how to decorate with Christmas signs. You can make your own, or find them at a local craft or home store.

I love the mix of red and green in the signs, and the way the dishes are displayed on the open shelves to make room for the signs.

You can also use a sign to display your Christmas menu!

8. Create a Farmhouse Christmas Tablescape

Finally, one of the best places to add a little Christmas magic to your farmhouse decor is your dining table.

I love to create a tablescape that feels warm and inviting, and Christmas is the perfect time to do that.

This year, I used a variety of greenery, some simple white dishes, and a few Christmas touches to create a beautiful, yet simple table.

And the best part about this tablescape is that it can easily be transitioned into a simple winter tablescape after Christmas is over.

I used a few of the same elements that I used in the rest of our home, such as the greenery and the candles, to tie everything together.

And then I added in a few simple Christmas touches, like the red and white napkins, to make it feel a little more festive.

Conclusion

We hope you have a beautiful and festive holiday season! Let us know if you have any other great farmhouse Christmas decor ideas!
