38 Neutral Christmas Decor Ideas

I love the holidays and I love decorating for Christmas, but I also love the idea of using neutral Christmas decor ideas.

Today I am going to share a few of my favorite ideas that I have been collecting over the last few weeks.

I hope these ideas inspire you to create a warm and inviting home this holiday season.

1. Add a Flocked Christmas Tree

If you want to add a touch of winter to your living room, a flocked Christmas tree is the way to go. I love how the flocked tree adds a pop of white to the space.

The white tree, stockings, and ornaments are balanced out with a mix of dark wood and greenery.

I also love the mix of patterns in the stockings and pillows. It adds so much texture to the space!

2. Make a Statement with a Garland

Garlands are a great way to make a statement in your home, and you can use them in so many ways.

Here, I added a flocked garland to my fireplace mantel. I love the way the white pops against the brick and the wood tones.

You can also add garlands to a staircase, drape them over a sideboard or use them as a table runner.

The possibilities are endless!

3. Bring in a Wintery Vignette

I love the simplicity of this wintery vignette on my entryway table. I used a few bottle brush trees and some white houses to create a little scene.

I added in a few candles and some greenery to finish off the look.

This is a great example of how to decorate with neutrals for Christmas if you have a lot of other stuff going on in your house.

I love how the greenery, candles, and bottle brush trees bring in the Christmas feel while still keeping things simple and neutral.

4. Use a Basket to Display Gifts

This is a great tip if you’re short on space, or if you just want to keep your Christmas gifts in one spot.

I love using a basket to keep gifts corralled in a small area. This works especially well if you’re displaying the gifts in a living area or bedroom.

I like to keep the gifts in a basket simple by using brown kraft paper and a simple ribbon to wrap the gifts.

You could also use a basket to display gifts that are already wrapped!

5. Add a Little Bit of Greenery

If you’re wanting to keep things simple, but still add in a little bit of color, greenery is a great way to do that.

You can add a little bit or add a lot. It’ll still keep your decor looking fresh and classic.

I added a few simple Christmas stems to the vases on our mantel and then added a few more around the room.

I love that it adds a little bit of color and texture to the room.

6. Use a Neutral Christmas Tree Skirt

Christmas tree skirts are a great way to dress up the bottom of your tree. They also add a great backdrop to your presents.

This year I used a neutral Christmas tree skirt. It’s a simple white and tan color with tassels around the edges.

7. Bring in Wintery Art

One of my favorite Christmas decor ideas is to hang a large wintery landscape painting on the wall.

It can be a print or a painting you already own, or you can even create your own!

I painted this landscape last year and it was the perfect piece to hang above the mantel.

I love how the white snow and the icy blue sky look with the other neutral Christmas decor in the room.

8. Use a Wintery Scented Candle

If you’re not a fan of fake Christmas tree scents, you can easily make your home smell like Christmas without using a tree-scented candle.

I love using a candle that smells like pine, or a cozy fire on a cold winter’s night.

It really sets the mood and makes everything feel so much cozier.

9. Add a Little Bit of Snow

There’s nothing quite like fresh snow during the holidays. If you’re lucky enough to have snow where you live, you can bring it inside and add it to your decor.

I love the way snow looks on a flocked Christmas tree.

If you don’t have a flocked tree, you can add snow to a garland, wreath, or even a centerpiece for your dining table.

You can also add a little bit of snow to your mantel or shelves by sprinkling it on top of your decor.

Conclusion

I hope this post was helpful and you feel inspired to decorate your home for the holidays! I have a few more Christmas decorating posts coming up so be sure to check back soon.
